Condominium residents are terrified when they learn that two of their neighbors have been brutally raped and that the culprit may be living in their midst. A police manhunt ensues. One officer, who actually lives in the complex, is particularly troubled, for not only do the incidents cause his wife to admit that she was a victim of date rape, he is also the one who had a chance to kill the rapist and didn't.

It is due to some professional obligations that brothers Charles and Fredi turn their attention to theater. Charles, an actor does not want Fredi to write a book on him.

A small town shortly before the end of the GDR: 15-year-old Ulla lives with her mother in a dilapidated old building where not even the electricity works properly. Winfried's father turns out to be the culprit, but the mayor is on his side. Ulla rebels against this environmental destruction connected to political corruption and organizes a protest. Her activism not only endangers her own future, but also her first great love.

As Liz and Jess debate using Jess's brother as a sperm donor, Liz's true feelings about Jess's family begin to surface, tail spinning their once-solid relationship into nosedive.
